Natalia Śliwowska is a Polish film director, researcher and visual artist with a background in film and critical art theory which are fundamental to her work.
She is a 2021 cum laude alumna of a Master in Artistic Research at the Dutch Film Academy. Her film works explore the fallibility of memory and truth. Her practice explores metaphysics of causation, collective visions and intuitive knowledge. Rigorous about ethics in documentary representation, she perceives the camera as a liberating, mystical and enabling tool. She finds parallels between the seance of ghosts summoning and the séance de cinéma.
Her directorial feature debut, Insurance Against Meteorites expects its premiere in 2026. It is produced by Katarzyna Kuczyńska (HAKA Films, Poland) in collaboration with MUBI and Plan B Entertainment.
Natalia currently lives and works in Amsterdam.
