What Remains of the Work

This research began as a response to the long term effect of research into mourning and trauma - fear of death. While conducting interviews with Polish morgue workers, gravediggers and a CEO of cemetery GPS navigation software I stumbled upon a research thread. What was at first intended as the visual exploration of the aggressive commercialisation of the Polish funeral business, resulted in an insight into surprising and seemingly counterintuitive levels of fulfilment experienced by the people working physically with death. I juxtaposed it with alienation of those working with death on a purely conceptual level.
